Toyota Camry Parts

Haha, that's interesting. I wish a Google Car would park outside of my house. Too bad I live in the suburbs. xD

Hardware

"This is a great post. Thank you for putting this post out there for all of us.

Thanks!"

Googlewagon spotted!

I spotted the Google Street View car twice on this weekend in Wellington. On Saturday evening the car was on Courteney Pl a bucket covering the camera and on Sunday same car was shooting down the streets from Kelburn area. I think they still are shooting some streets.

New Hardware atop the Google Car in the USA

More recently google is using different hardware atop the pole in San Francisco. See http://sfcitizen.com/blog/2008/06/16/the-united-states-park-police-vs-the-google-maps-car-san-francsicos-presidio/

Saw it in Wellington

I spotted the car in Wellington a couple of weeks back. I thought it was moving quite fast for a car that was taking snapshots. Will be interesting to see the quality of the photos.

I wonder if they did AKL already...

Testing

This is just to test as I was trying to post the comment but it failed.

Especially when Terralink

Especially when Terralink will take two years to complete and publish any footage (that's what the article indicates). My bet is google will have Australia and NZ footage up long before winter (1 June '08 in NZ).

Terralink also filming - another poor decision

Yep - they are getting in too little too late.

How are they going to sell their service when google will provide it for free?

Looks like this will go the same way as their fisheye product - straight into the bin!!

Terralink also filming

Terralink is doing a much more extensive trip filming around the whole country, and seems to be doing it much less efficiently than google (Not that I'd really know. See this article: http://www.terralink.co.nz/newsroom/press_releases_archive/press_release...

Under the bucket

Meanwhile, ProjectX in Wellington is wondering what's under the bucket: http://blog.projectxtech.com/2008/01/09/whats-under-the-bucket
